One of the cleanest beaches of Mykonos, Kalafatis is located in Ano Mera (southeast of the island). One of the characteristics of this place is that there are many trees (tamarisks) which offer their shade in summertime. The beach is divided in two in order to satisfy all tastes: One side is solely for bathers whereas the other side offers a range of water sports. In fact, the past few years, Kalafatis beach hosts the European competition of freestyle windsurfing.

This is a beautiful beach facing towards Delos, the Cape of Aleomantra, and the canal of Mykonos  and Delos. Also, the well-known festival of Agios Ioannis takes place there towards the end of September every year. The beach is covered in soft and golden sand and it is ideal for those who love relaxation and tranquility. The place is organized but there are no water sport facilities.
