The Center of Greek Music by Local Artists is housed in the building of the Cultural Foundation and also functions as Music History Museum. It was established to gather, preserve and promote the rich musical heritage of the city of Trikala.

The old neighborhood of Varousi used to be the rich, Christian and self-governing district of the city stretching along the east side of the fortress. The mansions of Varousi and the numerous churches (ten in total, dating from the 16th to the 19th century.) reflect the economic and cultural boom of the 18th and 19th century which was the result of the development of trade and crafts. The Hill of Prophet Elias, a remarkable green area overlooking the city, is within a walking distance from the city center. The Church of Prophet Elias and the zoo of the city can be found here.

The picturesque villages of Pertouli and Elati are built on the slopes of Mount Koziakas. When you visit the place you will see stone houses with tiled roofs built among trees, cobblestoned streets, little cafes and traditional restaurants. The villages are popular winter destinations for visitors who enjoy the beautiful scenery and want to visit the nearby ski resort. When the weather is good, the forests and surrounding mountains are suitable for hiking.
